Voice in the Wilderness

Frick Park

Pittsburgh

April 2014

In the wooded section of the city park, hiking.  (What else would I be doing?)  I hear a voice, loud.  Can hear it fine but can’t tell what it is saying.  Get closer and hear, “I lost my voice.  Can you help me find it?”  And again, louder, “I lost my voice.  Can you help me find it?”  She is shouting, “I lost my voice.  Can you help me find it?”  I hear other voices, giggling.  A group of friends, clowning around.

I find my voice.  But I don’t use it here.
