Zion National Park
Utah
March 2014
The mountains are splendid and breathtaking in Zion National Park. The squirrels and chipmunks are uncommonly bold, stopping just short of asking for food in complete English sentences, or possibly even French. The mule deer, smaller cousins of our familiar white tail, have enormous ears to help keep themselves cool. They don’t run or lope, they hop! Should definitely be accompanied by xylophone music. Tons of cigar-sized lizards dart across our path because, well, we’re in the desert. The oversized and fetching sacred datura flower will send you on a psychedelic trip if you ingest it. I suggest you don’t.
And oh, the light!
